Pool House lessons are held at the Seabass Aquatics lesson pool in the Ocean Park area of Santa Monica, near John Adams Middle School. The exact address and arrival instructions are provided to registered families.
Pool House lessons are available for swimmers ages 2.5 and up, with instruction tailored to each swimmer's age, comfort level, and ability.
Not at all! We work with swimmers ranging from first-time beginners to more experienced swimmers developing their strokes, endurance, and technique.
Both may be offered. Semi-private lessons are prioritized when swimmers can be appropriately matched by age and swim level. Private lesson availability may be limited.
Most Pool House lessons are 30 minutes long β enough time to build skills and confidence each session without losing a young swimmer's focus.
Each Seabass Aquatics level has prerequisites and skills swimmers work toward. If you're unsure where your swimmer belongs, we can help determine the best starting level.
For younger swimmers, a parent or responsible adult should remain available during the lesson. Parents are welcome to watch, but allowing the instructor to lead the lesson without frequent interruption helps swimmers build confidence and independence.
Possibly! Siblings can participate together when their ages, abilities, and instructional needs make them an appropriate match. Otherwise, separate lessons may provide a better learning experience.
That's okay β we'll encourage them without forcing participation and will use the time to learn to manage fear and build comfort and confidence around the water. The scheduled lesson is still considered reserved and remains subject to the applicable payment and attendance policies.
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson. Cancellations within 48 hours are considered late cancellations and require full payment.
Payment is due by the end of the day following each lesson. Families do not need to pay for an entire session in advance unless otherwise specified.
The complete Pool House Program Policies cover registration, cancellations, payment, attendance, sanitation, safety, and other requirements. Families should review them before beginning lessons.
