Seabass Aquatics began in 2024 with a handful of swimmers, a pool, and a love for teaching. We didn't want to be a rigid, intimidating academy. We just wanted people to love the water as much as we do.
Through referrals, returning families, and swimmers who genuinely wanted to come back, we grew. Today, the brand includes Swim Lessons, At-Home Swim Lessons, Ocean Training, and Lifeguard Services.
Seabass Aquatics was founded by Sebastian, an LA County Ocean Lifeguard, competitive swimmer, water polo player and swim instructor who has spent years both in the pool and along the Southern California coast.
Growing up in LA, the water has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started swim lessons at just 3 years old, eventually moved into competitive swimming, and later became captain of my swim team. That love for the water followed me beyond the pool and into the ocean, where I became an LA County Ocean Lifeguard. Through it all, one of my favorite parts has always been teaching—watching a swimmer go from nervous and unsure to confident, capable, and excited to be in the water.
I started Seabass Aquatics because I believe swim lessons shouldn't feel like a chore. Whether I'm teaching a 4-year-old to blow bubbles, helping a student prepare for their first ocean swim, or working with an adult to become more comfortable and confident in the water, I approach every lesson with the same energy: patient, positive, and genuinely excited to see progress.
“And yes... the nickname eventually became the name!”
When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me at the beach, training, or somewhere behind a laptop building something new. I've always loved the mix of water and technology. One keeps me moving, while the other keeps me creating. Whether I'm working with swimmers or writing code, I'm always finding new ways to learn and build.
We turn learning to swim into something kids actually look forward to. Every lesson is structured with intention, hidden perfectly within the play.
Looks like a race.
Actually teaches powerful kicking and streamlines.
Looks like a rescue mission.
Actually develops freestyle arm technique and breathing.
Looks like competition.
Actually develops speed, endurance, stroke technique, and confidence.
Our mission is to develop confident, capable swimmers who understand and respect the water and not simply teach someone how to make it from one side of the pool to the other.
Some arrive afraid to put their face underwater. Some are learning their first freestyle stroke. Others are ready to race, train, or take on the ocean.
First splash!
Goggles on, fear gone.
Ocean bounds
Seabass Aquatics started with swim lessons, but the vision is bigger than one pool. The goal is to build a community where swimmers can progress from their first lesson into stronger strokes, competition, ocean training, and whatever comes next.
“Maybe we'll need a swim team name someday... ;)”
